Aint it an awful feeling when you pick up a book you haven’t read in months and have forgotten all the sub-characters? Dan Abnett’s first Gaunt’s Ghosts novel never really grabbed me as much as Straight Silver did. I suppose that shows him growing as an author though, which is interesting in itself…Buuut, it doesn’t make for the most gripping read.
Only 80 or so pages left, and I can start something new. This one won’t get the better of me just yet!

“ When people suggest significant changes in some of the hallowed practices, cries of “heretic” can be heard coming from all directions. Such protest is common largely because people have little knowledge of the true foundations of their faith. ”
— George Barna, “Pagan Christianity?”
For some reason, I love to read multiple books, especially informational books. Probably because I just love to learn….;D So, along with the Shadow Rising, I’m reading a book on introversion and this book, one of my favorites, “Pagan Christianity?” I read it about two years ago, and I’ve been wanting to read it again! Now the desire has come back, and here I am!

For some reason, I tend to function best if I have different books for different moods….xD

And the first I am reading is one of the first I read, way back in 6th grade: the Tell-Tale Heart. In fact, I saw a dramatized version of this and the Monkey’s Paw that same year! It goes without saying that my middle school English teacher was fabulous!

Today is the anniversary of Poe’s death.

Assignment: READ MY FAVORITE POES TONIGHT!!

I must read the Raven, then I’ll probably do the Tell Tale Heart and the Cask of Amontillado (I’m pretty sure that was the first of his short stories I read!) and WHO KNOW WHAT ELSE!!!

And maybe Bon Bon for a good laugh.
